We’re in the middle of two good weeks of techno right now, last week Tony Rohr played one of the best live sets I’ve heard in a while down at Electric City, including a few tracks off his new album “Tony Rohr Loves You All” on Weave, here’s a video of him playing the track “Scary Lab (acid version)”. A great night down in wax, hopefully Rohr will be brought over here again in the future, he’d rank up there close to Landstrumm as the best live techno I’ve heard in a while. And I usually don’t really enjoy live techno sets, I prefer DJ sets as they’re more varied and due to my short attention span I normally get bored hearing just one artist’s music for over an hour. It took some photos too, they’ll be up soon!

Acii Disco at The Hub on Saturday’s seems to be getting more and more people in. I can’t say I agree with the Rage Against The Machine remixing (although it did remind me of Fibber’s circa 1994), but the rest of the crowd seemed to enjoy it! Funnily enough I heard Justice and Simian play this too (the original that is) at the Gigolo Records party at Watergate, Berlin back during Love Week 2004. It’s a tune that makes even German’s jump up and down.

Like I said, another good week of techno coming up. Rian Ryan headlines Electric City down at Wax this Thursday with support from the Junction boyos Martin Smith and Dave Prior. Electric City don’t get to sleep in on Friday as they have Green Velvet coming over to play at the TBMC for their fourth Electric Shock night, with a live set from Minimise Record’s Educution (who you may remember as Front End Synthetics’ Booger!), Eddie Brennan will be warming up things at 11pm there.

But I’ve saved the best for last, the best being myself, ho ho! Yeah I’m playing at Test in The Life Bar this Saturday, here’s the full line-up:
