Hello! Here are a few (only a few mind) photos from the Chris Liebing gig. Unfortunately I took hardly any because I got really drunk. I got a few nice videos though:

Dan warms up in typical minimal style

Brian Sanhaji live and also alive!

Chris Liebing makes a room full of people cheer and throw their hands in the air somehow

Also, here’s a short video of Magnetize doing his live electro shiznit down at Electric City: Is that a Jomox 999 I hear?

And some photos of Ben Sims who tore the place up recently, an absolute demon on the wheels that are made out of steel, a video of Niall Power in action (check out his fancy MK5 decks, they do +/- 16! by default!) and a funny video of Ben Sims, check out the CD falling out of the CDJ thingie, you don’t get that with vinyl! Also check out the guy going mental right in front of the decks, calm down mister, you’re scaring people!

Right, I’m off to China and then Taiwan for two weeks. Hopefully I’ll have some time over there to update the site, so check back for photos and things. Oh and here’s a special message for the music journalists: 4/4 is a time signature, it isn’t a measure of when the kick drum appears. 99% of all techno, electro, house, disco, and pop music is 4/4. “March of the Pigs” by Nine Inch Nails has a great time signature, three bars of 7/8 and then one bar of 4/4 (which Wikipedia says makes it a 29/8 time). Venetian Snares and Autechre are some artists that spring to mind who also use non 4/4 time signatures sometimes (one of my favourite Autechre track’s “Drane” from their first Peel Session is in 10/4 time I believe, you can still mix it into a 4/4 track though!). Here’s a link to some other unusual time signatures, mostly rock music it seems. Wow, looks like those piano lessons didn’t go to waste after all! I’m off now to calculate more time signatures and memorise record catalogue numbers, talk to you soon!
