Emmet - I found my apartment on http://berlin.de.craigslist.org/ but apparently the best site for finding places to rent is this one: http://www.immowelt.de/

As for a job, that's trickier. The company I worked for moved me over here, so I don't have any experience finding a job here, but from the people I've talked to it seems difficult to find decent employment unless you've got pretty good German, although there seems to be quite a few restaurant/bar/cafe type jobs going where you don't need to be fluent. A good website for finding out more information on all this thing is http://www.toytowngermany.com, check the forum section, it's dedicated to expats living in Germany and has a Berlin section where people are always talking about finding jobs and apartments etc.

		<description>Hi, donnacha gave me your details, my name is emmet, we may have given each other evil looks across a dance floor or in a record shop in dublin, to cut to the chase iam gona move to berlin and if its not any hassle for you, can you put me in the right direction, with regards to jobs and rental of flats/apts etc, I dont speak much german but have a ok understanding of it, i do a bit of dj'ing and i would be aware of and know some of the "haircuts" you mention on your page. I understand if you dont wana bother, but if you do it would be a great help. To put it this way i wana get the hell out of the aul sod and berlin is the city for me. tanx in advance</description>
